2016 AKK Dues and Activities

CU12_Youth_Led_NOAC-01Greetings to all Atta Kulla Kulla Arrowmen! The final planning for 2016 activities is in full swing by your lodge officers. As we finalize those activities, it is also that time of year to pay your 2016 dues and if you wish to register for all those activities.

Dues will remain the same at $10 per year due by the end of the year. However with increasing food costs, we had to increase the cost of each fellowship by $2.50 and our Winter Banquet by $5.00. Our fellowship costs are still some of the lowest of all the other lodges in our section. There is not a price increase for the LLDC, and Summer Cookout. The below information is mainly for new Ordeal Members, which is a breakout of Atta Kulla Kulla 2016 Activities:

January 30, 2016. Lodge Leadership Development Conference. The LLDC is learning and training session for all lodge members especially all new Ordeal members. It begins at 9AM at Buncombe Street United Methodist Church and ends at 4PM. We meet in the second floor of the Scout Hut. Lunch is provided for everyone attending.

January 30, 2016. AKK Winter Banquet at Buncombe Street United Methodist Church begins at 6PM. It is a special night with a special meal, prepared by Chat & Chew II, followed by awards and recognitions. It closes with a presentation by a special guest speaker.

March 18 – 20, 2016. AKK Spring Fellowship at Camp Old Indian. This is a weekend of fellowship, training, activities, chapter competition and plenty of food for all. A service project is performed as our service continues to Camp Old Indian.

May 21, 2016. AKK Work Day at Camp Old Indian. This is our chance to help prepare Camp Old Indian for summer camp along with a good cleanup of the camp.

July 20, 2016. AKK Summer Cookout at Camp Old Indian. This is our summer cookout with Barbecue with all the fixings. Our summer Vigil Callout is performed at the amphitheater during the Wednesday Night American Indian Dance Pageant.

September 16 – 18, 2016. AKK Fall Fellowship at Camp Old Indian. It is the same as Spring Fellowship. Election of all chapter and lodge officers occurs during this weekend.

Finally, throughout the year, trail work continues at Camp Old Indian and on Old Indian Mountain. All work days will start at 9 AM at the Camp Old Indian Parking lot. People should bring lunch, water, gloves and dress appropriately for the weather. All equipment and tools will be provided. Our main emphasis this year will be to finish the trail to White Pines; and do trail maintenance on existing trails. The dates for trail work are: Dec 5, 2015, Jan 9, 2016, Feb 13, 2016, March 12, 2016, and April 16, 2016.

The cost for all activities and dues is $105.00. Please see the attached 2016 AKK registration form for details. However, if you order an ALL ACCESS PASS, it is only $85 which includes a permanent 2016 participant pass. That is a savings of $20!!! Current Whippoorwill Club members pay only $80 for all the AKK Activities. Also, by ordering the All Access Pass, you can avoid any late fees for any of the AKK Events.

If not interested in an All Access Pass, you can register for each event as they happen, but remember it is due before the cutoff date so that the appropriate amount of food can be purchased to avoid any shortages/overages.

The costs include everything but the 2016 Dixie Registration. Since that is a Southern Region Activity, any information on it will be out in the coming weeks.

All payments and registrations must be made at the scout office with this form or on-line at the following internet address: AKK 2016 On-Line Registration Form (Link is also on the form)

Note, the Blue Ridge Council Office will be closed during December 21st through December 27th. Please plan accordingly when registering.

If you have any questions, please contact any of your lodge officers.

In Brotherhood,
2016 Atta Kulla Kulla Lodge Officers
