Brothers! Spring fellowship is right around the corner! Friday March 18th through Sunday March 20th will be our Annual Spring Fellowship at Camp Old Indian! We will have patch trading and a movie Friday night in the dining hall, and the always-popular Patch Auction Saturday!
Both are great opportunities to get that hard to find patch.
Like last year, we will have chapter-hosted quest events on Saturday. Come ready to compete! As I mentioned at the Winter Banquet’s ECM, I need Chapter Chiefs to let me know what games their chapters would like to run! Chapter Chiefs: please email me regarding those games by next Friday, March 4th. In addition, we will have service projects going on as usual, more info on those to come! Make sure to bring clothes you can work in!
Spring fellowship is a great opportunity to seal your membership in the Order and become a Brotherhood Member. Requirements are:
– 10 or more months as an active Ordeal member
– Be a registered scout or scouter with lodge dues current
– Memorize the admonition, obligation, song, and legend, among other things. A great guide to what you must know, called the “Get Your Bars Guide” can be found on our website, akk185.org under the resources tab!
– Write a letter to the lodge secretary explaining what you think the obligation means, how you’ve been fulfilling the obligation in your troop, and in your daily life, and a description of your specific plans for continued service to the lodge.
It’s that simple! Take note, there is a $20 fee for your new Brotherhood sash.
Make sure you register by March 4th to avoid the $10 late fee. A registration form is attached, or you can register online by going to brcakk.kintera.org/2016orderform. Registration fee is $27.50, and includes a patch, four meals, and two crackerbarrels.
I am looking forward to an exciting weekend and hope to see you all there!
